Why we buffered creatine in the first place
Creatine is one of the most studied supplements there is, and it works. But when I was competing, a lot of athletes I knew complained about bloating and stomach trouble, and plenty of them quit taking it. I wanted to know why, and whether there was a better way to make it.
That question became Kre-Alkalyn, a pH-correct creatine. Instead of changing what creatine is, we changed the conditions it’s made in, buffering it to a higher pH. We patented the process in 2002, and it’s still the ingredient the company is built on.
More than twenty years later, the reasoning hasn’t changed. Start with an ingredient that works, then find a way to make it better for the athlete who actually has to take it every day.
